TELECOM DISRUPTION
Challenging Global Telecom Economics
In the late 2000s, Nadahl founded and served as CEO of Boomtel Networks.
Boomtel invented and pioneered a unique internet telephony concept using “100” as an internet dialing prefix. Users could pre-dial 100 plus any phone number on earth to route calls Free over the internet via VoIP. The model challenged traditional telecom billing structures and attracted major industry attention because it directly attacked the economics of metered telephone billing.
Nadahl publicly addressed broadband economics, VoIP disruption, and the future of communications at CeBIT, Financial Times conferences, and other executive forums.
This period reinforced one of the themes that runs throughout his career:
When legacy economics are broken, the market eventually moves toward faster, cheaper, more direct systems.
